Sense has teamed up with Large Outdoors to bring you a series of six fundraising walks with a slight twist. The Sense Solar Series.

The Solar Series is an annual series of six walks in different locations across the UK.. All six of the walks start at sunrise and your challenge is to complete them by sunset. The aim is to challenge yourself and your team, have fun, meet new people and raise much needed funds for Sense, the national deafblind charity, along the way!

Do something amazing in 2012 and challenge yourself and your team to take on one or maybe all of the Sense Solar Series challenge walks.

What are the challenges?
The walks all vary in length.  The shortest walk is the Snowdon rooftops in Snowdonia at 18miles (although this has plenty of height gain), and the longest route is the Summer Solstice Walk which aims to cover 40 miles between sunrise and sunset and everything in between. Which challenge will you take on?  Check out each of the walks to see which one is right for you.

Each challenge will have a champion for both the quickest time and, of course, the most fundraised…

Is this a team event?
That is totally up to you… You can enter on your own. However, we think you would have much more fun doing it as a team.

Who can enter?
Absolutely everyone!  These walks are open to anybody over the age of 18 at the time of the event.

What is the fundraising target and registration cost?
Each event has a slightly different registration cost and fundraising target based on the distance covered.

Will you be a Solar Series champion?
Everyone that completes all six challenges in a year will receive a free weekend away with Large Outdoors and a few other lovely prizes. There will also be extra special prizes for the quickest time to complete all six and the most funds raised over the year.

Why do it?
Because we promise you will have a great time!   Not only will each walk in the Sense Solar Series be an amazing experience; the sense of achievement you’ll feel once completed will be next to nothing.  From your fundraising, to completing the physical side of the challenge, you will be doing a great thing.

These challenges can be tough, but remember… ‘Pain is temporary – pride lasts forever!’
